Even most of the most affordable of business hotels in Japan have an in-house coin laundry (and I explain here how I don’t believe families need an in-room washing machine and dryer while travelling in Japan – I explain here.)
But I also understand that many families prefer to have a dryer in their own room so here is my list of hotels in Japan with that option. Please note that usually this means the room is more expensive and a little harder to find.
I update and add to this list as new places appear or are on my radar.

MIMARU Shinsaibashi Central
MIMARU Shinsaibashi Central is the newest Mimaru. Just 2 mins walk from Shinsaibashi Station. This hotel can accommodate families of 4, 6 or even 8 (if kids are small enough to bedshare). All rooms have their own in-room washer dryer.
&Here OSAKA NAMBA
This brand new hotel is one of the most gorgeous and spacious options for families.
Family Japanese Style Room
This room sleeps 4 people. Beds for 2 and 2 x futons. This room also has a lovely deep Japanese bath, a fridge and a microwave.
Deluxe Suite
The Deluxe Suite at &Here OSAKA NAMBA is unlike anything I’ve ever seen in an inner city hotel. Two separate bedrooms, a lush, deep Japanese bath, a washing machine in the room, a tatami area, a proper separate dining area. There is also a kitchenette with a refridgerator.
Executive Suite
This suite also can accommodate up to 6 people and this room also has a washing machine within the room and a kitchenette. This suite also has two separate bedrooms (great for parents who don’t want to have to go to sleep at the same as their children.)

JR-East Hotel Mets Shibuya
Simple, clean, everything that travellers need (including in-house coin laundries and a simple breakfast restaurant)- all in great locations. I have stayed at the JR East Hotel Mets in Shibuya and found it to be so affordable (for Shibuya). The in-house tvs are all set up to easily log into Netflix, Youtube, Prime Video and Hulu. Please note that this is a simple accommodation – not fancy (which is why I recommend it for travellers on a budget but who want to still be in the middle of Shibuya.) Most rooms are for 1, 2 or 3 people but they do have a few rooms called “Deluxe Twin Residential Style” which can sleep 5 (2 x double beds + 1 additional pull out bed) and these rooms also include an in-room washing machine/dryer and a microwave.

HYATT HOUSE SHIBUYA
This hotel also has a pool and is 750 metres from Shibuya Crossing. I have written in detail about this hotel here.

Hotels with an in-room washing machine and dryer in Tsukiji, Tokyo
Mitsui Garden Hotel Ginza Tsukiji
I really really love this hotel.
The lobby and rooms are beautiful, they have a public bath (no swimsuits allowed, of course) and the staff are so kind. Many of the rooms contain their own washer/dryers, a full size refrigerator and a microwave. The largest of rooms accommodate up to 4 adults.

An example of a boutique high-end hotel/ryokan in Niigata that DOES have a washing machine in their stand alone houses:
SATOYAMA JUJO (for families with children 12 years or older.)

Mimaru Shinmachi Sanjo is walking distance to Nishiki Market and an easy 8 min walk to the closest train station (just a few stops from Kyoto Station.) There is a supermarket and convenience stores close by too. 15 mins walk to Nishiki Market. This hotel also has Pokémon rooms. Rooms here can sleep 4, 6 or 8 people (the 8 people room is actually a connecting room.) Many of the rooms have a washer and dryer in the rooms. The staff here are so good at booking restaurants for their guests.
This Mimaru is often more affordable than the other locations. Mr Maurice’s rooftop Italian restaurant (very kid-friendly) is also right around the corner. It’s in my recommended Kyoto restaurants here. Another one of my recommended restaurants nearby? Tiger Gyoza Hall.
