TOKYO DISNEY VACATION PACKAGES WITH KIDS

Father giving small daughter a piggie back in the Arabian Coast section of Disneysea

We have had the pleasure of staying at Tokyo Disney Resort and taking advantage of the extras included in a  Tokyo Disney Vacation Package.

The main benefits of a Tokyo Disney Vacation Package means access to the rides that “sell out quickly” first thing in the morning – a couple of “skip the queue” tickets, some limited edition merch for Disney Package Holders, unlimited soft drinks at many food stands throughout the park and a stay in one of the Tokyo Disney Official Hotels.

Please note that all fast passes and present vouchers are physical paper tickets so it’s a good idea to pack a small case (or buy one at the 100 yen store) so that nothing gets lost.

*Please note that park entry tickets for Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disneysea are NOT included in your hotel price like in some other Disney parks around the world. You will need to buy Tokyo Disney Park tickets separately (I explain how here) or, if you are staying in an official Tokyo Disney Hotel, you can purchase while you check-in for your stay. The exception? If you’ve purchased some sort of vacation package. *

Our package was called “Tokyo Disney Resort Fantasy Springs Vacation Package” and it included a stay at the Toy Story Hotel and unlimited rides within the Fantasy Springs section of Tokyo Disneysea.

Fantasy Springs, Disneysea.

Read here if you are not yet familiar with how the fast pass and paid vs free ride pass system at Tokyo Disney Parks.

Is a Tokyo Disney Vacation Package expensive?
Yes – and is more expensive depending on the accommodation that comes with the package (for example, Miracosta, Tokyo Disneyland Hotel or Fantasy Springs Hotel are much more expensive than the Toy Story Hotel.  The hotel also becomes more expensive the larger your family is (more than 3 adults can often mean you are looking at two rooms or a suite.)

However, it does depend what you’re used to in terms of cost.
One of my readers told me :

“We did the full VIP Disney Package in Tokyo with all access fast passes and it was less than my hotel and tickets in Orlando – without fast passes not drinks/snacks etc.”

Our Tokyo Disney Vacation Package itinerary was:
Day 1: Tokyo Disneyland
Stay overnight at the Toy Story Hotel
Day 2: Tokyo Disneysea.

Exploring Toontown at Tokyo Disneyland.

Exploring the Arabian Coast area within Tokyo Disneysea

Vacation Package Vouchers – you get a few sheets with different fast passes and coupons to collect special items for Vacation Package guests.

The Vacation Package allows guests to reserve some park restaurants ahead of time. If you don’t though – don’t worry though as most of the restaurants don’t require a reservation at all (we also don’t like to waste ride time by having a formal dining option at Tokyo Disney parks anyway.)

We stayed at the the Toy Story Hotel as a part of our Tokyo Disney Vacation Package.  See here for my blog post on what it’s like to stay at the Toy Story Hotel.

Another hotel often used as part of a Tokyo Disney Vacation Package

Hotel Okura Tokyo Bay
This hotel is just next the Tokyo Disney Resort Liner “Bayside Station.”  There is also a complimentary bus shuttle to the Disney Parks.

This brand is very well known in Japan and well regarded for exquisite customer service.  The deluxe room type offers some connecting room options – great for bigger families. This hotel provides pyjamas for in-room use (for adults and children.)
The rooms here are so lovely and spacious.

If you book a Japanese style room with futons and a tatami floor – you will also have access to a private onsen time just for you and your family in the evenings. Reserve your time for the private onsen as soon as you can though.
Unfortunately, this hotel only offers cots/cribs for babies less than 1 year old.
There are change tables in the men and women’s restrooms on the ground floor.   There is a drugstore within the hotel.
This hotel also has an incredible breakfast buffet (lots of Japanese and Western options) as well as it’s own in-house Japanese restaurant, Teppanyaki restaurant and Chinese restaurant.  Each restaurant has a children’s menu, space to enter the restaurant with a child in a stroller and they also have high chairs.
Hotel Okura Tokyo Bay can assist with luggage forwarding (receiving and sending.)
There is no coin laundry in this hotel. You can send your luggage out to be cleaned and dry cleaned (will take approx 24 hours and will cost extra, of course.)
There is a convenience store within the hotel.

As you can see, the Hotel Okura Tokyo Bay and the Toy Story Hotel are just next to each other.

As a part of the Tokyo Disney Vacation Package – we were given tickets for merch to collect from certain stores inside the parks.
We chose two of these Tokyo Disney Vacation Package limited edition blankets. They are so so soft.

This link isn’t sponsored or anything but, since you get lots of little tear off tickets that you don’t want to lose when you book a vacation package, it can be handy to have something like this to protect all those little tear-off rectangles.
