We had a layover in Frankfurt with kids on our way from Melbourne to Edinburgh and another longer layover while travelling back to Melbourne from Edinburgh too.
This is such a lovely accessible airport for families. Easy to navigate and nice and clean.
There is even a play space for small kids (there is one in each terminal, actually.)
WHERE DID WE EAT AT FRANKFURT AIRPORT WITH KIDS IN TERMINAL 1?
Kids got pizza by the slice, a banana and some donuts at Falconis. The staff here were so kind. They heated up the pizza and even put it in little boxes. Falconis is in Terminal 1 Section B.
I took advantage of the incredible vegan/vegetarian options at Burger King just a few doors down. It was really really good! (and I kept going back to Burger King in Edinburgh later in the trip because I was so impressed!) See the full menu for Burger King in Germany here. At Frankfurt Airport, there is a Burger King in Terminal 1 sections B & D.
Lucullus Nero is a dine-in Italian restaurant with pizza and pasta and some meat and veg dishes. They also allow takeout (we got take away to take to the lounge to eat during a long layover.)
Lucullus Nero at Frankfurt Airport also have vegan cheese alternatives. This is in Terminal 1 Section Z.
THERE ARE MANY SANDWICH, SALAD AND PRETZEL SHOPS AROUND FRANKFURT AIRPORT TOO
THERE IS A PHARMACY/DRUGSTORE IN TERMINAL 1 – IN SECTION Z.
