ONE OF THE BEST MEALS OF MY LIFE ( LOCATION: KINOSAKI)

ONE OF THE BEST MEALS OF MY LIFE ( LOCATION: KINOSAKI)

Sanpou Nishimuraya Honten is a stunning Japanese dining restaurant that was one of the best meals of my entire life.   I still can’t stop thinking about it actually.

This is also a fantastic restaurant to visit if you have special dietary requirements ( although it is vital that you give detailed instructions at the time of reservation and best if you book a few days in advance.)   For example, I am pescatarian and the restaurant were able to alter the course menu and change some chicken dishes to seafood options.
This restaurant understands what it is to be vegan, gluten free and dairy intolerant.

For such a gorgeous, sleek and zen restaurant there is a actually a beautiful small business vibe.  I think this feeling comes about by the chefs ( who then also plate and serve the food themselves – right in front of diners)  being just so passionate about the whole dining experience but also as all of the restaurant staff know exactly where every ingredient has come from – where it had been grown, harvested and the entire process from farm to table.
You see, the ingredients are from Northern Hyogo Prefecture in a town called Tajima.
Kinosaki’s famous crab hot pots and other crab dishes are available from November – March.

Seating options are counter seating or table seating.
I can’t recommend counter seating highly enough ( another reason to make a reservation as soon as possible)  – however, if I was dining with my kids I would choose table seating every time ( for more space, ease when it comes to sharing food but I also wouldn’t want to disturb others at the counter – but that’s just me.)

Here are pictures of my dinner. Please note that, just as with all Japanese traditional dining, the ingredients and food options change with the seasons and seasonal ingredients ( which is why I want to visit again every few months now! )

And isn’t this the most sensational children’s meal that you have ever seen?  ( Needs to be requested at least 3 days in advance.)

For lunch or dinner reservations, please see the Sanpou Nishimuraya Honten restaurant website here.
Please note that the restaurant is closed on Wednesdays.
The entire restaurant is non-smoking.
