Hotel Androoms is a chain of hotels and I’m so impressed. The hotels are modern, clean, generously sized rooms, a beautiful restaurant/ communal working space in the lobby.
They are also so reasonably priced!! I booked on booking.com and only paid around 6000 yen for one night!! ( and that included breakfast!)

Hotel Androoms Honmachi have also just added Family Rooms to their room types ! These rooms sleep up to 4 adults (more people if kids are small enough to bed share.) For guests they can provide diaper trash cans, toilet seats for kids, a baby bath and baby soap, a bottle sterilization box, waterproof sheets as well as a high chair and plastic plates etc.

If you’re watching your budget this is one of the best affordable hotels that I have found. I’ve stayed here (paid for it all myself.) It’s a wonderful, affordable place for couples or small families. I think it’s also a great option if you are booking multiple rooms in order to accommodate teens.
The quality of this hotel is impeccable – especially considering it is a 3 star hotel.

How to get to Hotel Androoms Honmachi
This hotel is 6 mins walk from Honmachi Station on the Midosuji Line (via Exit 2 or 6.)
From Umeda Station, you can take the Midosuji Line to Honmachi and door to door – the trip will take 12 mins.
From Shin-Osaka Station, you can also take the Midosuji Line to Honmachi (20 mins door to door) or you could take a taxi and it will take approximately 18 mins (2500 yen.)
From this hotel, it is 12 mins (approx 1500 yen) in a cab to Namba Parks Shopping Mall (with lots of family friendly restaurants and a large Toys R Us that stocks nappies/diapers and baby food.)
The lobby is also a restaurant area. Great for catching up or having a meal of coffee with other friends in the hotel or getting some work done.

These fried chicken options are LIFESAVERS (especially if you have picky eaters with you.)
This one pictured below is available at Lawson convenience stores – it is called “Karage-Kun” (pronounced “ka-ra-ge-kun”) and inside contains approx 6 pieces of Japanese fried chicken. Be sure to get the REGULAR flavour and the other option is a bit spicy and one of the other flavours sometimes available contains cheese. Pain Duce is just 4 mins walk away from Hotel Androoms Honmachi. It is open 8am-7pm. Closed on Sundays.
Gluten free option nearby
It’s random but a good old reliable option for those who are strictly gluten free.Dominos Pizza does not have gluten free pizzas BUT they do have a wheat free pizza rice bowl. There is a Dominos Pizza in Honmachi, just 1 min walk from the hotel. . See the rice bowl on the Dominos Japan menu here. Other gluten free options from Dominos Japan include the Dominos Shake Real Strawberry and the Freshly Baked Fondant Chocolat.
Salad Buffet Restaurant
4 mins walk from Hotel Androoms Osaka is Vegeble Kitchen. Please note that this is note a vegetarian restaurant – they have mains (mostly pastas and curries) and all you can eat salads. They welcome children. Budget 1000 yen per person at lunchtime and more like 2500 for dinner. They accept most major credit cards. Mos Burger
There is a Mos Burger branch just 2 mins walk from Androoms Honmachi. Kids meals come with a small toy.

Yoshinoya (gyudon chain) is 4 mins walk from the hotel. Open 8am-11pm.
ForJapanese curry rice, vegetarian and vegan options as well as lots of salads, I recommend the casual curry house chain Cocoichi Curry.
The Cocoichibanya Honmachi branch is 5 mins walk from Androoms Honmachi.
Cocoichibanya is a Japanese curry house chain -and all options are customisable – from spicy-ness level to what sides go next to the curry to the size of the rice portion. Very casual and so easy to take kids. For kids who don’t ilke curry you can also order just rice or a side of fries etc. I speak in detail about this curry chain here – including pictures of the menu. They accept most major credit cards. Budget for 1000-2000 yen per person to dine here (depending on what you order.)

Good Spoon Yodoyabashi is 11 mins walk from Hotel Androoms Honmachi welcomes children – and they have space for strollers. Budget 2000 yen for lunch or 4000 yen for dinner. They take reservations. Osaka Engine is a lovely family friendly option (opened after Kyoto Engine had wonderful reception!) Osaka Engine has gluten free AND vegan options. Many of my gluten free readers say that this was their favourite meal in Japan. The black miso ramen here is excellent. It is 3 mins walk from Sakaisuji Honmachi Station. I recommend ordering the gluten free and vegan gyoza dumplies and the vegan ice-cream. Make a reservation online here. They accept most major credit cards. 8 mins walk from Honmachi Station.
