We stayed at Fusaki Beach Resort & Villas as a family and had the most beautiful time.

As I mention in my Ishigaki island with kids article, a lot of accommodation options are quite run down – however Fusaki Beach Resort & Villas is NOT one of those. The whole resort is beautiful and modern. The staff speak English well.
The only downside? I don’t recommend the pool for families with kids who are over 4-5 years old and that like to play rough and loudly in the pool (there is a kids pool for little ones and that is fine – but the pool is surrounded by many lifeguards who are not only keeping families safe but they are also keeping the pool area nice and calm and relaxing. This could be quite stressful for parents of kids who like to dive and splash and play fight.)

The hotel provides pyjamas (for use during your stay – these aren’t for taking home.)
Coin-Laundries throughout the Fusaki Beach Resort & Villas
Every section of the resort and on every floor – you can find a coin laundry for guests to use. This is so handy – especially as you accumulate so much wet swimwear and sweaty clothing while here.
The detergent is already built into the machine. Please email the hotel ahead of time if you have any laundry detergent allergies. Here is my general guide on visiting Japan with allergies.
The pool at Fusaki Beach Resort & Villas
There is the main pool and a separate kids pool at Fusaki Beach Resort & Villas.
See here for pool opening hours at different times of year. You can rent blow up toys and floaties from the area behind the Star Bar by the pool.
There is a “night pool” event from 8pm every evening. This is only for patrons who are 20 years or older.
There is an indoor pool open 9am-9pm ( a great option if the weather turns bad.)
The kids pool is for small kids – swimming diapers allowed here.
I have a tattoo – can I still use the pools at Fusaki Beach Resort & Villas ?
You can but you will need to cover them at all times (wearing rashvests or plasters etc.) Another alternative? Renting a room with its own private pool attached.
The beach just outside Fusaki Beach Resort & Villas
There are beach loungers and a netted beach area. I must be honest – the rough sand and rocks at the shore are a bit of a culture shock for this Aussie girl but the water is the most beautiful colour and the water was so so so warm!
Guests can opt in for banana boat style water rides etc here too.
Is there a kids’ club or babysitters at Fusaki Beach Resort & Villas ?
Yes. There is a kids area next to the kids’ pool. It’s called Ayapani and you need to make a reservation one day ahead.
How do get to Fusaki Beach Resort & Villas?

We liked getting poolside food from the Aqua Garden Cafe.
We got take out most of the time but, if you decide to dine-in, they do have high chairs (the type without the belts though – although I’m sure they could bring a different type for you from the breakfast restaurant if you were really stuck.)
We decided not to dine at the Beachside Grill Kachibai as it’s just kind of a stage area with sails (no aircon.) But if you like Yakiniku bbq food I think you’ll like it here. There were lots of families here.
The Breakfast Buffet at Fusaki Beach Resort & Villas is exceptional.
The breakfast buffet includes a whole kids section (my little boy loved having chicken nuggets and wedges at breakfast time – AND a pancake machine!) and another smaller section of just baby food. The restaurant has high chairs and kids cutlery and plates.

My tips for when staying at Fusaki Beach Resort & Villas
I recommend buying snacks at the convenience store at the airport BEFORE hoping on the hotel transfer bus. The reason? The gift / convenience store doesn’t have a great selection – all the candy and snacks are Okinawa fruit and veg flavoured and sometimes we just wanted plain chocolate or plain chips etc. They do have a good ice-cream selection in the shop though.
There are no convenience stores within walking distance of the hotel AND, if you’re lucky, it will be too hot to walk far anyway.
Get internet sorted before you go
I like using pocket wifi in Japan as the kids can also connect to me.
But for this visit, I couldn’t collect it at the airport or have it sent to the hotel as a typhoon had been through the area the week before. So we had to wait until a few days and we did find wifi in the Okinawa hotels to be really touch and go. So I recommend organising a pocket wifi or an esim for while you are here.
