If you are on holidays or have recently moved to Japan and are looking for English speaking babysitters these are the companies I recommend contacting.
As you can imagine, it is easier to find a babysitter through these agencies in the major cities but it’s still worth trying for Japanese small towns.

1) Rainbow Kids Care
Rainbow Kids Care are the babysitting service used by the Mimaru chain of apartment hotels. They can also babysit and take care of children at tourist spots or places like Tokyo Disneyland. Rainbow Kids Care was founded by a Japanese Mum who has lived in the US for over 25 years – she wanted to prioritize the travel experience for families in Japan.
Please reach out to Rainbow Kids Care on their website below and I also have a US$10 discount when you use the code THETOKYOCHAPTER

2) CareFinder
Carefinder actually can help you out with babysitting in several Japanese cities. The couple who own this company are native English speakers.
All of their sitters are screened, insured, registered with the government and compliant with all Japanese regulations. We have sitters from over 66 countries and many languages are covered, Italian, French, Spanish, Chinese, etc. Sitters will travel throughout Japan, go to hotels, and are available to tutor kids in various subjects. CareFinder is also expanding into pet care and other services.
They are a babysitting matching service – making sure that you get the babysitter that is right for your family … they even allow you to choose. I love how they have pictures on the Carefinder site with pictures of and details about some of their most popular babysitters.
Please use the code: TOKYOCHAPTER for a 1000 yen discount.

3) Chez Vous ( Housekeeping & Babysitting)
Check out their website for prices. They can be slightly more expensive than other agencies but they have a fantastic reputation.
There is no kickback at all for me but they have a fantastic deal for The Tokyo Chapter readers! Mention that you heard about them here and they will waive the 37,800 yen registration fee ! Amazing, right?
They have extremely strict regulations when hiring their sitters to include first aid qualifications, quality experience and background checks
4) Poppins
This organization is even able to assist with same-day / last minute reservations.
And if you’re looking for Date Night ideas see here... or even for a sneaky Tokyo lunch date?
