Izu Grandpal Amusement Park.
We visted here while staying at this ryokan on the Higashi Izu Peninsula.
For the most part, this amusement park is dinosaur themed – and we couldn’t stop giggling at how retro and kitsch it is – in the best possible way! My kids loved the playgrounds here, the 4D mini-cinema, the ride on dinos, the zipline, the ride on cars through Izu Grandpal’s own version of “Jurassic Park.”
You can also walk through the middle section of the race track with all the fake dinos at Izu Grandpal Park.
The zipline at Izu Grandpal Park is so good (also SO high!) My kids LOVED it!
To ride you must be between 30-100kgs and you must be taller than 120 cms (another reason to know your family’s height and weight in metric as I mention in my What to Pack with Kids article here.)
For those with little kids on hot days, there is a “cool room” play area (free to enter) with vending machines and change rooms.
Where to eat near Izu Grand Pal Park?
Gusto Family Restaurant just 6 mins drive from Izu Grandpal Park.
Bottomless soft drink bar, kids can order from the ipad at the table, many kids menu options come with a free toy, orders delivered by a cat robot waiter. They accept most major credit cards.
I have written in detail about Gusto family restaurants here – with lots of pictures.
