If you’re in the Tokyo Station area with kids and are looking for vegan restaurants or restaurants with vegan options THAT ALSO welcome children – here are my recommendations.
T’s Tan Tan Ramen
The entire restaurant is vegan. It is called T’s Tan Tan. The ramen, the gyoza, the “beef” bowls. They have Gluten Free and Nut free options too.
There are also lots of take away vegan options.
The restaurant is actually located within the gates of JR Tokyo Station,. But, even if you’re not travelling, I still recommend buying the basic “Platform/send off ” ticket for 130 yen for the pleasure.
To help you find it, go to the entrance to JR Tokyo that can be seen from McDonalds ( past Daimaru on your left.)
IT IS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS HERE!
It can be a little hard to find so watch this youtube video on how to get to T’s Tan Tan Ramen in Tokyo Station here.
I also recommend grabbing a bento here for the bullet train. So yummy.
Here are some photos from my most recent visit.

Komeda Is (5 mins in a taxi or 20 mins walk from Tokyo Station)
For a vegan meal, I recommend visiting Komeda Is. . A cafe that serves plant-based meals, desserts and drinks ( including vegan alcoholic drinks.) They open at 7am. It’s 1 min walk from Higashi Ginza on the Hibiya and Toei Asakusa lines, Exit 5.
They accept most major credit cards. The entire restaurant is non-smoking. They also have an English menu – . There is also space for strollers. Here, they also sell vegan shokupan bread near the counter.

Bills Ginza (9 mins walk from Tokyo Station)
Bills Ginza is a great aussie style breakfast option (also open for lunch and dinner.) They have lots of yummy vegan options too. Open from 8:30am for brekkie. I would budget for approx 3000 yen per adult for breakfast and lunch here (and more like 5000 yen at dinner time. It can get busy here on the weekends so it is best to make a reservation – otherwise you’ll be lining up forever. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. Some seats also have powerpoints where you can charge your phone. There are quite a few vegetarian options on the menu here. The restaurant has a lovely view. You can make reservations via the Bills website here. See the full breakfast menu here. Here is a link to the all day kids menu. They have high chairs here. There is also a change table in the bathrooms in the same building.

Mr Farmer within the Tokyo Midtown Hibiya Food Hall (11 mins walk from Tokyo Station)
For an excellent food court , I recommend a department store called Tokyo Midtown Hibiya.
It’s a large department store next to Hibiya Park. It’s a great place to grab lunch or dinner with kids. The Food Hall on the B1 floor is beautiful. You can also sit down and all eat different food from different restaurants so its great when everyone wants to try something new.
There is a bakery, Vietnamese food, a meatball restaurant, a barbecue restaurant, a seafood & oyster restaurant, a vegan salad cafe to name a few options.
The whole space is very beautiful, very safe and very clean.
Mr Farmer here has a few gluten free (one of them being a veggie taco bowl) and vegan options.
There is also a baby room on the second floor. It has a small place for babies to play, to change nappies and breastfeeding spaces.
Elevators get really crowded so take the escalator with a folded stroller if possible.
If it’s rainy – why not go see a movie ? On the 4th and 5th floors in the Toho Cinemas Hibiya– we often go here. See here how to make sure you are seeing a movie in English with Japanese subtitles instead of a dubbed Japanese version.
Soranoiro Ramen : Gluten Free & Vegan Ramen
For gluten free and vegan ramen, I recommend checking out Soranoiro Nippon in Tokyo Ramen Street inside Tokyo Station. They have two gluten free ramen options to choose from.
