DADWAY PLAYCENTRE IN NAMBA PARKS (OSAKA)

This is a guest post written by Sarah Stoddart, who recently visited the Dadway Playcentre “Dadway Play Studio” in Namba, Osaka, with her young family. Sarah is a commercial lawyer based in Brisbane. What is Dadway Playstudio?
We came across Dadway Play Studio on a rainy day in Osaka, after having checked out of our hotel and whilst trying to pass the time before our evening flight home to Australia.

Dadway Play Studio sits alongside the Dadway retail store.
It is located in the gorgeous Namba Parks shopping centre, and a short walk from Namba Station.
Although not overly large, our two children (5 years old and 2 years old) spent a very happy 2 hours playing here!

Ticket Options at Dadway Play Studio
Ticket options vary depending on how long you think you will stay at the centre, however, we felt the 2 hour option was the best value, particularly as we did have time to pass.
There are tickets available for much shorter timeslots if you don’t have as much time to spare.

How old do kids need to be to use Dadway Play Studio?
Dadway Play Studio is for children aged 6 months to 6 years. There is a dedicated play area for children under 3 years of age, but the rest of the space is for all ages. Our 5 year old son was definitely one of the eldest children at Dadway on the day we attended however he still had lots of fun. It may not be as exciting for a 6 year old but I do think it is perfectly suited for children between 2 and 4 years old.

What does the play space include?
It includes a soft play area and climbing fort with a slide, mini flying fox and mini trampoline.

Our children loved the climbing fort and also the toy kitchen and supermarket.

We also observed other children playing with train sets, tea sets and building blocks as well as enjoying some quiet time in the reading section.

Are there lockers? What are the rules with food and drink at Dadway Play Studio?
There are lockers available at Dadway to store your belongings.

No food or drink is permitted in the play area and there is also no food or drink for sale (apart from a few baby snacks).
This didn’t worry us though. We had a few snacks with us and when the children had finished playing, we made our way to “To The Herbs” for a delicious Italian family lunch!
