If you want to watch live sports in a bar in Tokyo (and getting a VPN and watching it in your own hotel room isn’t your thing…) here are some places to watch “the big game” while in Tokyo.
*When you contact these venues to find out what they will be showing, please be sure to check what times they allow children
Hobgoblin Roppongi
This is probably most well known in Tokyo for international sport viewing with a crowd from all corners. Roppongi is close to the areas where many expats live. See the Hobgoblin website here and the Hobgoblin instagram here to check on special events (or to reach out and ask if they will be showing something in particular.) Children and babies can also dine here. There is space to store strollers while you dine.
Ale House Hub, 82 Shinjuku Sanchome, Shinjuku
Please note that this pub allows smoking indoors and those under 20 years of age cannot enter.
Two Dogs Taproom, Roppongi
This beer & pizza hall often shows major sporting events. Children and babies are welcome here. There is place to store a stroller while you dine. No smoking venue.
And if you’d like to watch live sport in Osaka, I recommend contacting the following venues to see what they will be playing live on their screens.
The Blarney Stone (there is one in Shinsaibashi and another in Umeda.)
Captain Kangaroo
Coolabah in Shinsaibashi/America-mura show AFL, Rugby and Rugby League.
