THE UNKO (POOP) MUSEUM, ODAIBA

The Unko (aka Poop) Museum is as weird as it sounds – but my 8 year old boy thought it was the best best thing ever !

Everything is clean and it’s more of a colourful plastic poop themed children’s playcentre than a museum.

It is inside a shopping mall called Diver City on the man-made island of Odaiba just over the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.
I recommend making a reservation online – although they do also accept walk-ins.

There are several interactive sections of the Poop Museum – all interactive.
I think the best age for kids here is probably 3-8 year olds.

My favourite part is the entrance where everyone is invited to sit on a fake toilet and pretend to push out a poo… and magically a colourful poo appears and you get to walk around with that plastic colourful poo on a chopstick like a baton all day long.  Excellent.

I also couldn’t stop laughing at one game where kids had to just yell POOOOOOOP as loud as they could into a microphone in order to make the poop on the screen get as big as possible.  The whole room was just full of people screaming out UNKOOOOOOO at the top of their lungs.

Your kids can also practice saying their newest Japanese word over and over “Unko!”

My little guy loves the arcade games here so much too.

To get there, take the Yurikamome train (it’s great because it’s an unmanned train and my kids love to ride up the front and pretend they are driving!) to Daiba Station.
