It’s so cheesy and fun. The food is overpriced but the portions are good and every 15 mins or so the “animals” in the cafe move around and there is a fake rainstorm.
Is it going to be the best food of your life? Nope. Is it a decent feed for a themed restaurant next to a theme park? Yes, I think it is. It’s also nice to have some western sized portions if you’re mid-way through your Japan trip.
There are also a giant fish tank. My son LOVES this place so so so much. I love it as it’s a big restaurant and it gives me some downtime as the kids never want to leave. We come for lunch or an early dinner the day before or the day after we go to Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo Disneysea. I don’t recommend eating here after 6pm at night as the disney crowd is leaving the parks and looking for dinner and it gets a bit crazy. During the day, however? So spacious and chill.
This is a fabulous restaurant to visit if it is your child’s birthday – they will sing for your table and make a fuss.
Please note that there is no elevator down to the restaurant – the staff will help you carry your stroller down though. There are around 10-15 stairs.
Please budget for 2000 yen per adult at lunch and more like 4000 yen at dinner time. They do have a kids menu. Children are given a colouring sheet and coloured pencils.
It is possible to make a reservation at the Rainforest Cafe – we never have but we also haven’t tried to eat here at peak times before. (peak = one the disney crowds disperse once it gets dark or after fireworks or once it starts to rain.) Please make a reservation for the Rainforest Cafe here.
