ISEYA RYOKAN, NAGASAKI, WITH KIDS

After staying in Fukuoka, I drove on to stay at Iseya Ryokan (2.5 hours drive) for a night and then on to Nagasaki.
*I speak about renting a car in Japan here.

What is near Iseya Ryokan?
There is a foot onsen literally across the road from Iseya Ryokan.

Outside the ryokan (and the neighbouring ryokan on the street) you can see the actual hot spring water out front. Can you see the steam coming off the water here?

I recommend visiting cake and pastry shop Okamoto Chez D-Amour (see their website here for pictures of all the amazing cakes they have.) Open 10am-midday and then again 1pm – 6pm. Closed Tuesdays. They accept most major credit cards. This bakery is 4 mins walk from Iseya Ryokan.

Are there any convenience stores near Iseya Ryokan?
There is also a Lawson convenience store just 3 mins walk from Iseya Ryokan.

Are there any large drugstores and supermarkets near Iseya Ryokan?

A gigantic drugstore / supermarket called Cosmos is 5 mins walk from Iseya Ryokan. Open 9am-8pm.

Are there any 100 yen stores near Iseya Ryokan?
When driving to Iseya Ryokan there is a giant stand alone Seria 100 yen store. It’s called Seria Foods People Chijiwacho and is open 9am – 8pm.
