Hands down, my favourite thing to do in this area with my children is to go to Arisugawa Park. It is stunning and completely different with every single season. It has a lovely children’s playground up the top of the hill and a Japanese garden with a large pond down the bottom. It’s perfect for turtle, duck and carp spotting! There is a public bathroom up the top near the playground equipment and another down near the pond. Wear mosquito repellant in Summer and Rainy Season.
The park is just 2 minutes walk from Hiroo Station.

See here if you’re looking for more family-friendly options in areas around the park such as Hiroo, Roppongi and Azabujuban.
In my Hiroo with kids post I have coffee and restaurant suggestions too.
Another suggestion: If you have kids who are vegan or have egg or dairy allergies in Tokyo – how about moving from Hiroo to Te Cor Gentil vegan bakery and the playground next door in neighbouring Azabujuban. To get to Te Cor Gentil from Hiroo, take a cab for 7 mins, walk for 21 mins or take the train to Azabu-Juban Station and then walk for 9 mins.
Amishiro Park in Azabu-Juban is a good one. As always, my kids are crazy for a good swing and a roller-slide. It’s also very close to Dumbo Doughnuts (I have all of my Azabu-Juban recommendations for this area here.)

Just next to Amishiro Park is vegan bakery Te Cor Gentil. This is a stunning bakery and makes for the perfect spot to grab a treat to eat before or after visiting the playground. I recommend trying the filled croissants and the coconut melon pan. This is also a fabulous option if you have a child who cann0t have any milk or dairy products.
