WHERE TO EAT AT TOKYO DISNEYLAND WITH KIDS?
We pretty much NEVER make restaurant reservations ahead of time for Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disneysea restaurants (as there are actually more restaurants that don’t take reservations and plenty of places to grab food whenever- and using the app you don’t need to wait either – so that it doesn’t interrupt your ride times at all.) HOWEVER, if you would like to make a reservation, jump on the official Tokyo Disney Resort website exactly one month (10am on the day one month ahead) before your park day.
Although we don’t make reservations for the restaurants, we do use the Tokyo Disney Resort app to preorder our food 5-15 mins ahead of time so that we can just collect our food without having to wait.
*The one exception – I recommend reserving the Blue Bayou (the romantic vibey restaurant inside the Pirates of the Caribbean) one month in advance. For us, the food is a bit too fancy for a family meal but I know some families still want to try it. Make a reservation for the Blue Bayou restaurant here. This is a great restaurant to book if you are gluten free as they do a 3 course gluten free meal

Pan Galactic Pizza Port
Just outside the main entrance into Tomorrowland (next to Star Tours) is Pan Galactic Pizza Port. We sometimes get our pizza to go and eat it while we wait for a show to begin.
You can ask for a “vegetarian pizza” here if you need. It will take a few mins longer though.
See the full menu at Pan Galactic Pizza Port here.
Pan Galactic Pizza from Tokyo Disneyland – takeout box.
There is also a vegan pizza at the same spot – grilled veggies with soy cheese pizza.
We like to get one of these to go at the end of the Disney day- as, no matter how much we seem to eat, kids are always starving back at the hotel. Please take note that this shop usually closes a little over one hour before the park day ends.
The standard pizza is a salami-sausage pizza but if you ask for a vegetarian pizza – you can get a simple cheese pizza too! ( will take a few more minutes to prepare, of course. )
This saved me so much by taking it back home or to a hotel ( and everyone know’s next day pizza is also good pizza!) My kids also really like the chicken calzone on the menu.
Tomorrowland Terrace
We eat lunch here pretty much everytime we are at Tokyo Disneyland (this or the pizza spot.). No reservations needed. Lots of options like small salads, mickey shaped chicken nuggets and burgers too. This is also a great option for buying a tray full of food to take to watch the parades. You can order a coke with a small ice-cream to put on top.
Center Street Coffee House
My daughter really loves the BayMax Curry Rice plate at “Center Street Street Coffee House” (we’ve always just joined the line and have waited for 10-15 mins – haven’t needed a reservation.) *Did you know there is a way to get a vegan version of this BayMax rice plate at Tokyo Disneyland? I explain how underneath this picture.
If you’d like to order the vegan version of this Baymax plate at Tokyo Disneyland, make sure you order via the Tokyo Disney Resort app in the food order section. Go to the Center Street Coffeehouse menu. Scroll to the bottom for the Special Dietary Menu . Select the Stew plate (the vegan version is a stew/casserole type dish – not a curry) . The title is “special dietary menu vegetable stew with rice.” It’s still Baymax shaped though!
Good Time Cafe in Toon Town
We quite like the Egg & Chicken on a Chinese Bun Burger and the Shrimp Cutlet Burger at the Good Time Cafe.
Just next to the restaurant in Toon Town ….
This is a small playground for toddlers in Toon Town that doesn’t require any wait time. My little boy loved this area most of all from ages 1-4. A Tokyo Disneyland with kids ( and toddlers!) must!
Hungry Bear Restaurant
If you’re looking for somewhere to eat a meal near the Country Bear Theatre or Thunder Mountain, you might want to check out The Hungry Bear Restaurant. They serve Japanese style curry with rice. The Hungry Bear Curry is a meat patty with chicken and a boiled egg. There is also a Pork Cutlet Curry or a Chicken Curry. Beer is sold at this restaurant. The kids curry set is a small Japanese curry with a meat patty with a macaroni pasta salad a small jelly and an apple juice. A small juice box sized milk is also on the drink menu here.
The low-allergen menu is vegetable stew with rice or vegetable curry with rice (neither contain wheat, buckwheat, eggs, dairy products or peanuts.)
The Crystal Palace
This buffet Restaurant now also has vegan options on the buffet. Book in advance or on the day!
It costs 5000 yen for adults here and 2500 yen for kids 7-11 years old and 1,500 yen for children 4-6.
Vegan food options here include : Japanese dry curry gratin, Japanese salad with vegan dressing, fruit, french fries, chickpea croquettes, pasta with vegetable & tomato sauce, marinated baby corn and okra. Vegan dessert options included elderflower jelly and soy milk berry mousse, vegan mickey shaped cinnamon churros.
If you sit near the window you can see some of the parade going by !
The Queen of Hearts Banquet Hall in Fantasyland
See the full menu for the Queen of Hearts Banquet Hall here.
Popcorn !
The lines for popcorn are sometimes as long as some rides! There are different flavours available in different areas of the park and many people are keen to either try them all or keep refilling their popcorn buckets all day long. It’s a sight to see.
Curry popcorn anyone? How about Soy Sauce flavour then? There is even a Roast Beef flavoured popcorn.
If you want to be able to see the full selection of popcorn and most of the popular flavours in one spot, go to Big Pop in Tomorrowland. See here for a full list of where to find all of the popcorn buckets sold at Tokyo Disneyland (updated daily) included a list of all of the popcorn flavours and exactly where to find them.
Please ask as you purchase incase there have been any recipe changes BUT the following flavours at Tokyo Disneyland are vegan:
-Caramel
-Corn Potage
-Salted Popcorn
-White Chocolate
-Black Pepper
So, in other words- There is no discount for buying an empty bucket HOWEVER you can get a voucher to fill the bucket elsewhere.
Popcorn containers from Disney
I think that the popcorn containers from Disney make fantastic gifts (although you will need to fill them with clothing to make it worth your while shoving it into the suitcase.) Each popcorn stand sells different kinds of containers ( I mean, different characters and shapes etc.) I have included them on my list of recommended souvenirs from Japan for kids here.
In Japan, collecting these babies is SERIOUS business.
They are all produced for a limited time only – which is a genius idea when it comes to producing a sense of urgency when it comes to sales.
The two pictured below were purchased at DisneySea (Tokyo Disneyland and Disneysea both sell these limited edition containers but the options are not the same at the two separate parks – this is also deliberate and, from a marketing perspective is very clever.)
They weren’t cheap – around 2500 yen each – BUT if you buy them to use right away – and you want popcorn refill several times over at Disney…. the refills are very cheap… but you still need to buy the bucket first. The popcorn carts all have a normal “box of popcorn” price and a “refill popcorn” price.
I think that they are adorable and make for beautiful keepsakes.
On a weekend or a movie night – I buy a bag of popcorn or microwave popcorn and the kids bring the containers out again and sit it on their laps throughout the whole film.
If you want to be able to see all of the popcorn containers in sale at the park and most of the flavours. Go to a shop in Tomorrowland called “Big Pop.”
Mickey & Minnie Shaped Icypoles
Both the Mickey & Minnie flavours are completely vegan.
Gluten free food at Tokyo Disneyland with kids
One gluten free option at Tokyo Disneyland worth noting is the Restaurant Hokusai Japanese restaurant within the park has a gluten-free child’s place of traditional Japanese gluten-free food.
The East Cafe have a steak on their menu that they can make gluten free and the Blue Bayou Restaurant (reservations required) has a 3 course gluten free meal.
The Polynesian Terrace Restaurant Dinner Show (needs to be booked 1 month in advance) has a low allergen meal options that is gluten free.
For comprehensive gluten free advice in Japan, I recommend following the Gluten Free in Japan group on facebook.
For after Disneyland, I have some gluten free restaurant suggestions in the Ikspiari shopping complex, just outside of Tokyo Disneyland.
See here for my recommendations on where to eat with kids while a Tokyo Disneysea.
